FAQs on Restroom Trailer Rentals in Los Angeles, CA
What is the average portable restroom trailer rental cost?
- A 2-stall trailer typically costs $1,600 – $5,800.
- A 3-stall trailer typically costs $2,985 – $6,600.
- A 5-stall trailer typically costs $4,000 – $13,500.
- An 8-10-stall trailer typically costs ~$8,300.
Is a standard porta potty rental cheaper than a restroom trailer?
This would depend on the number of people you’re accommodating.
The general rule of thumb is that you need one porta potty per 20 people and one restroom trailer per 100 people. A standard porta potty rental costs, on average, $150 per toilet, while a restroom trailer can cost as low as $500. So, if you’re hosting 100+ people, it could be more cost-effective to choose one trailer vs. five porta-potties.
In cases where you’re hosting a high number of people, it might make more sense to choose a mobile restroom trailer vs. multiple portable toilet rentals. Plus, choosing the full trailer with mirrors, countertops, and full sinks provides a better restroom experience for your guests or crew members.
Why choose a luxury restroom trailer over a standard portable toilet?
Event organizers and some of our residential customers choose to provide trailers vs. standard portable toilets because they offer full amenities and an elevated atmosphere.
These solutions can also be more practical when you’re dealing with a high volume of people. Instead of having a dozen (plus) porta potties side by side, you can rent a few restroom trailers for guests. This is easier to manage for both event organizers and haulers, and it provides guests with luxury restroom facilities.
What do you need to set up a restroom trailer rental?
A restroom trailer requires access to water and a 110-volt (dedicated) outlet to hook up.
If you do not have these available to you, we offer these items for rent as well:
- Fresh water holding tanks: These come loaded with fresh water for toilets and sinks.
- Power generator: These come with gasoline, but you are responsible for maintaining the fuel levels.
We also offer (additional) sewage holding tanks — your restroom trailer comes with one sewage waste tank, but you can purchase additional tanks to be delivered with your trailer.
These may be necessary for events where you’re anticipating a large number of attendees. Some crews or event planners also purchase additional sewage tanks to decrease the frequency of the services on long-term rentals.
Do I need a permit to rent a restroom trailer?
You do not need a permit if you’re placing the restroom trailer on private property. If you’re placing the trailer on somebody else’s property, you’ll need permission first, but you shouldn’t need a permit.
You do need a permit if you’re placing restroom trailers on any public property (streets, sidewalks, parking lots, trails, etc) or any location that blocks a public area.
What size restroom trailer should I get?
We suggest thinking about your rental duration and how many people will be using the trailer.
- A 2-stall restroom trailer can fit ~100 (up to 125) patrons.
- A 3-stall trailer is recommended for 100-200 people.
- A 5-stall trailer is recommended for 200-400 people.
- An 8-10-stall trailer is recommended for events or job sites with 400+ people.
Some folks interested in long-term rentals will choose a larger trailer size to decrease the frequency of the services on long-term rentals.
Do portable restroom providers offer ADA-compliant restroom trailers?
Yes, most restroom trailer providers offer ADA-compliant options upon request.
What types of portable restrooms are available for rent?
In addition to portable restroom trailers, we also offer:
- Standard porta potties
- ADA-compliant porta potties
- High-rise portable toilets
- Portable toilets with sinks
We also offer handwashing stations to complement our portable bathroom rentals.
