Prepare for Delivery

Where do I place my dumpster?

Congratulations on renting a dumpster! Your project is officially underway and we’re honored you’ve chosen us to aid in making your plans come to life. In this guide, we’ll help you prepare for the basics of dumpster delivery and make sure you know all the details of how to best prepare for receiving your rental.

For a Driveway Delivery

  • Prepare your delivery location: We suggest choosing a flat, dry space where you can access both ends of the dumpster. The dumpster should also not block any entryways to a building or home. Move any cars to the street or into garages, and make sure the space is totally clear.
  • Protect the delivery surface: Because dumpsters can damage surfaces, we recommend placing the dumpster on plywood. We also do not recommend placing a dumpster on grass. Dumpsters can damage grass, sprinkler systems, and septic tanks. If you don’t have a driveway for dumpster delivery, see below for our tips about street delivery for your dumpster service.
  • Ensure the delivery area is clearly marked: You don’t have to be present on delivery day, but you should be available to contact if the dumpster delivery service has any questions. The delivery space should also be clearly marked so the hauler knows where to put it.
  • Confirm: Make one last check on delivery day, and confirm with your customer support representative at ASAP. We’re here to make sure your delivery is hassle-free.

For Street Delivery

  • Get your permit: When you get dumpster delivery to a location in the street, check your local regulations as far in advance as possible. Some local procedures can be lengthy or complex, so make sure you have
  • Prepare the delivery location: Like a driveway delivery, your location should be free of objects and not block driveways or entryways. Putting plywood under the dumpster is still recommended. To boot, you should confirm with local regulations; it may even be required.
  • Confirm: Check in with us and make sure everything is all set on delivery day. While not a required step of your rental process, it’s best practice to reiterate plans on the day of delivery to avoid any potential mishaps.

For Job Site Delivery

  • Prepare and confirm: Choose and prepare your dumpster delivery site, making sure the delivery crew has access to a clearly marked location. Let your team members know about the delivery as well as confirm with the ASAP team.
