Dumpster Pickup Checklist
Dumpster pickup has some overlap with dumpster delivery, but a number of differences as well. As you prepare for your dumpster to be picked up, use this checklist to make sure pickup day goes as planned and your project stays on schedule.
- Make sure the waste is below the dumpster’s designated overfill line. If your trash sits above the overfill line, you may be charged additional fees or required to rent another dumpster unit.
- Double check for any hazardous waste or prohibited materials. Make sure not to skip this step! You never know what could have found its way into a dumpster.
- Close the door securely and remove the tarp if you’re using one.
- Make sure the pickup area is clear for your pickup hauler. Remove any excess objects or debris and ensure a clear and obvious path for pickup.
- Make sure that the hauler will have easy and safe access to removing your dumpster. If this is not the case upon arrival, you’ll be charged a dry run fee.
- Confirm your dumpster pickup with ASAP marketplace.
- In the case that there is rain or other inclement weather on the day of pickup, it’s best to check in with our team. It’s okay if the trash in your dumpster gets wet in the rain, but note that it could increase your charges as rain adds weight. Also, if mud is enough of an issue that the hauler is not able to remove the dumpster, you’ll be charged a dry run fee.
Be Sure to Avoid Fees
As mentioned above, remember that providers and ASAP incur fees for common dumpster rental pitfalls like going over the overfill line or missing your pickup time.
